Community engagement is an important adjunct in supporting the social development and learning of children. Collaborations with community organisations, cultural groups, and support services increase resources for families and afford children access to community life (Moore et al., 2017). For instance, local libraries, cultural centres, and sports clubs can enter partnerships that will enhance children's opportunities and foster feelings of bonding.
Through professional partnerships, educators, social workers, and health professionals may support children that encounter social patterns of difficulty. Integrated service models wherein the educational, health, and social services work together have been proven to attain the improvement of outcomes for children in vulnerable situations (Australian Institute of Family Studies, 2020).
